12/25/2023 0 Comments Skat trak paddle tires 32![]() ![]() Skats profit margins are thin because they start out life as knobbie tire that then requires a full blown Shop with lots of expensive machines and Employees which cost lots of money the last time I checked especially in the state of California Jeeez should I break it all down. think about it they open a box and sell them or cut off a few blades. I know they have both brands sitting there and the reason why they Push the STUs so damn hard is Because those molded tires make them the most Money. I have been riding in Glamis for over 20 years now with various machines over the years and a few years back I to was sent over to Fullertons shop and they acted like they were the end all Authority on Paddles and Pushed me into the STU tires like they Push every customer towards them. I push the Skat-Traks because they work the best. Im going refer you to call Tim Kelly at Extreme Tire in Phoenix Az at 60Ĭlick to expand. I see the 50 Caliber Bead locks Weigh in pretty damn light to. I stopped by Skat-Trak on Thursday and they had a nice looking STI wheel 14" that weighed in at 12 I think so that's not to bad for a good looking wheel. So for Dune riding I don't see the need for a bead lock wheel. WOW!!!* especially when you add it up.* Every one here can probably agree that the STUs have a lot of excess* Rotating mass and unsprung weight hanging out there Correct.* So what tire and wheel combination will Accelerate faster* and handle better.** That being said, you argue that the heavy 4 ply STUs are better for dunning how is that when a lighter tire combo accelerates faster and runs higher speeds.* You say what?** The Skat lays over and doesn't get the traction.* Really!** If they laid over that far they would come off the beads.* The only time i see tire off the beads is after a crash. The roll out with 10 lbs of air pressure was 90" exactly measuring The height of the tire from the floor measured 28 1/2" tall.** Ouch* thats huge my Tire is 2lbs heavier with the Rim than a STU. Here are the specs for the 30" tire Skat-Trak made for me The casing 30x14* they installed 9 Extreme paddles on it.* The tire weight was 20.2 lbs The wheel weight is 10.1 lbs.* The tire and wheel mounted weighed 30.3 lbs. If the tire is wide enough to allow it, we can stagger any of our paddles onto your tire for no additional chargeįor an additional charge, we can add a layer of Kevlar into the raw rubber before we vulcanize the paddle of your choice onto the tire to create tremendous strength, rigidity, and durability over the life of your tire.Hey Guys Skat-Trak has been working on this one for a while now and Came up with a new Tire that starts life out as a 6ply tire. Super Light Smooth tires take longer than normal to produce in production and generally have a minimum of a 3 to 4 week wait time. There is no warranty on Super Light Smooth buff tires, and the paddles are not repairable if damaged as the tire casing is too thin to remove the damaged paddle. This Buffing style must be requested on any orders, it is not standard. However, as we hand buff the Smooth Buff finish onto the tire we also remove a lot more of the rubber on the tire casing to make it very thin and Super Light in weight. Our “Super Light Smooth Buff” buffing rasp is a finer grit/grain, and is comparable to sand paper more like a smoother finer 220 grit. Our Ruff Buff is our standard buff and comes stock on all our rear Paddle Tire options unless specially requested otherwise. Our Ruff Buff is very popular in our UTV applications with 4-wheel drive, as this Ruff Buff used on Front Tires does have a little bit of traction. Our “Ruff Buff” buffing rasp is a coarser grit/grain, and is comparable to sand paper more like a rough 80 grit. It is mainly used on Front tires but can be requested on rears as well. This Buff style must be requested on any orders, it is not standard. Our “Smooth Buff” buffing rasp is a finer grit/grain, and is comparable to sand paper more like a smoother finer 220 grit. Any Front or Rear ATV or UTV tire can be buffed Bead to Bead. We can do this option in either the Smooth Buff, Ruff Buff, or Super Light Smooth buff option. We can buff your tire from one bead of side wall all the way to the other side bead removing all writing, tire size, and manufacturer information from the tire. This tire can be sold as is, or we can buff the sides in our regular Smooth Buff option, or we can Smooth Buff Bead to Bead. ![]() We carry in stock our own brand name of a 21x7x10 Molded tire with a Mohawk already on it. ![]()
